Honestly one of the most beautiful hotels I have every stayed with a very traditional Japanese experience on our Honeymoon. The décor was fantastic and it really made you feel like you were in Japan as apposed to the more modern style hotels we stayed at in Osaka. You are expected to take your shoes off at reception and store in lockers to ensure mats are kept clean. The rooms were very spacious and had great facilities. They even provided us with Pajamas for the night. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. We accidently left a phone in our room and they posted it for us next day delivery to our other hotel in Osaka. While it was expensive I can defiantly say its worth it if your are only visiting Kyoto for a few days like we did. It was just around the corner from the tube station which was a huge plus - literally a 2 minute walk. During our stay there was a Potato festival between the hotel and the tube station which had so much fun things for my 4 year old to do. They had Pigs, bouncy castles, trampolines, bubbles, make your own slime etc. also lots of food stalls. We spent a few hours here and it was great. There is also a really beautiful park you can walk through.

Beautiful place to stay and the whole hotel felt extremely clean. The tatami mats on the floor were always clean and they even wipe down your luggage wheels when you first come in so they don't dirty the floors. We loved the free snacks they would provide: free yakult and daango, and soba noodles depending on the snack hours. The buffet breakfast is a must - they have unlimited salmon roe and a tuna mash as well as a variety of different items. The buffet breakfast was truly a highlight of our stay. Bonus: this hotel is extremely close to the subway so it was extremely easy for us to get back to Tokyo. There is also a 711 conveniently located right across the street.

Ryokan style with tatami floor throughout the entire interior, shoes are not allowed and guests wear socks or barefoot, feel really comfortable. Private baths was good for families and guests with tattoos. We love our quad room which was spacious and comfy, corridors are well decorated with Japanese ornaments which gives a very good vibe. Lobby equipped with tea making facilities and a variety of tea options. The hot chocolate is rich and tasty. It was definitely a great experience and a very comfortable stay. I planned this stay at the end of our trip to finish our trip in a relaxing manner and it met my expectations.

Husband and I opted to splurge on a night in a nice ryokan in Kyoto and this place exceeded any expectations we had. Everything from the location (one stop away from Kyoto Station), to exterior and interior look of the hotel, to how spacious the room is (it was a great relief after being cramped in Tokyo for a week), to the service of the staff, to amenities available, to how delicious and varied the meals were (traditional multi-course dinner and buffet breakfast), and overall feel of the place was simply amazing and we would 100% come back and splurge on this place again if we ever visit Kyoto in the future.

Breakfast is good, wide variety from japanese to western styles. Service staffs at the check in area speaks fluent english and/or chinese (those with the language tag on them). Very well maintained place, beautiful hotel, good amenities, clean and comfortable. Rooms are beautiful as well. Excellent stay with the train station right beside it. There's a big park as well with railway museum just a stone throw away, and the aquarium a short walk away from the hotel. Big playground if you have kids with a nice cafe right beside it that serves delicious pizzas and more.
